Chipton-Ross is seeking a Marine Designer 1 for a contract opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)Associate's Degree and 0 years of relevant experienceOne of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:NNS Apprentice School graduateNavy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduateHigh School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experienceHigh School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experiencePOSITION RESPONSIBILITIESDesigns components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as CAD, CAM or CATIA.Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)Autocad or 3D classes preferred.Prior Marine Design experience is preferred.Proficient with computer and aided design equipment such as AutoCAD.Must possess a full understanding of Marine Design (HVAC, Piping, and Machinery).REQUIRED EDUCATIONHigh school diploma or GED.School must be accredited.WORK HOURSFull-Time 5/40, workweek 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.#J-18808-Ljbffr
