We aim to be the best wholesale distributor in the area and invite you to help build the future.DispatcherThis operations position is responsible for planning and coordinating the routing schedule using transportation software for each delivery truck and performing related duties as required. It considers traffic, weather, load size, road hazards, vehicle and personnel availability.What you'll doPlan the delivery route for each driver, determining needed stops and the most efficient use of available trucks to meet delivery demands.Incorporate customer delivery demands (unloading and delivery times) into the routing schedule to utilize the fleet effectively and reduce delivery costs.Determine cubic utilization of truck space based on route, stops, and customer demands to maximize unloading efficiency.Prepare loading and driver sheets showing the assigned route and ensure each driver receives an accurate list of stops for the day.Prepare request notes that identify loading and delivery activities as desired by customers or warranted by the schedule to enhance delivery effectiveness.Update previous day's routes by reviewing routing sheets, noting discrepancies or problems, and adjusting the sheet to improve routing and delivery efficiency.Enter truck mileage information into the delivery tracking system for each truck to provide accurate data for planning and evaluation.What you'll bringCompetencies that demonstrate teamwork, ethics, organizational support, motivation, planning/organizing, professionalism, quality, quantity, safety and security, adaptability, attendance/punctuality, dependability, initiative, and strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).1–3 years of related experience in transportation routing, scheduling, or logistics and/or training.Strong analytical and numerical skills, basic math proficiency, and the ability to manage work time efficiently and follow procedures.Location: Salt Lake City, UTSchedule: 5:00 am–1:30 pm (Monday–Friday)Our Competitive Benefits401(k) Plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid vacation, paid sick, paid personal, paid holidays, flexible spending accounts (health and dependent care), employee assistance program, tuition reimbursement, employee discounts, long‑term and short‑term disability, life insurance, and a definitive career path.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementSonepar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
