Law Enforcement Professional

Position Summary: Seeking law enforcement professionals to protect lives and property within Jackson County. Duties could include road patrol, detective bureau, traffic enforcement and crash reconstruction, school liaison, narcotics or other specialized assignments. This position is eligible for sponsorship and tuition coverage for the Mid-Michigan Police Academy. High school graduation or equivalent required. Wages commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Prefer advanced coursework in police administration, criminal justice, or related areas.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform job duties effectively.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation, including criminal history check.

Experience and Certifications Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a reserve, cadet or law enforcement role.
  • MCOLES certification.
  • CPR and first aid.
  • PBT - Radar - Firearms Safety.
  • Experience preferred but willing to train candidates pursuing a career in law enforcement.

Most benefits are effective date of hire including Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual. Use of accrued PTO and paid holidays following 90 calendar days of employment.
