ShiftNight Hours 6:00pm - 6:00am.Employment TypeFull time – 36 hours one week, 48 hours the following week; every other weekend.Position HighlightsProfessional Med Team Ambulance is an Advanced Life Support licensed ambulance service, trained to provide cardiac monitoring, intubation, oxygen, IV medication, and other life‑saving measures in the pre‑hospital setting.Excellent opportunities for career advancement.Work alongside qualified healthcare professionals.Serve in the spirit of the Gospel, offering a compassionate and healing presence in our communities.QualificationsKeyboard and typing skills; proficient computer operation and data entry.Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) training and certification within six (6) months of hire.Map‑reading ability and sound knowledge of Muskegon County and Western Michigan.Calm and professional handling of panicked or angry callers.Physical ability to perform tasks related to Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), detailed map reading, and monitoring of phone and radio traffic.Familiarity with FCC rules and the ability to monitor and speak clearly over the radio.Positive attitude and ability to work with diverse individuals.Valid State of Michigan motor vehicle operating license and a continued safe driving record.High emotional effort; work environment is hectic with long periods of high stress and frequent overtime.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with Field Supervisor and Dispatch Supervisor to ensure appropriate limits are staffed.Assign and direct PMT medical and transportation staff, including scheduling available personnel on both emergency and non‑emergency calls and calling in off‑duty personnel as necessary.Receive and dispatch emergency and non‑emergency calls promptly and appropriately.Fill open schedule slots and perform other scheduled maintenance to keep ambulances staffed.Schedule and approve overtime as needed; provide pre‑arrival instructions to callers and responding personnel using approved EMD criteria.Our CommitmentRooted in our mission and core values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
