Prison Corporal

Supervises line deputies and assists the Shift Supervisor in daily correctional facility operations. Responsible for housing unit oversight, inmate movement, staff direction, and enforcement of facility rules and safety standards.

  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities Supervise deputies and enforce facility procedures Conduct inspections, roll call, and briefings Monitor housing units and inmate activity Coordinate inmate movement and escorts Supervise meals, recreation, visitation, and programs Review and submit incident reports Enforce key control and security practices Conduct rounds and security checks Address inmate behavior and rule violations Guide and train subordinate staff Report unusual occurrences and maintenance issues

Minimum Qualifications POST certified law enforcement officer (preferred) Demonstrated leadership ability Experience working in correctional housing operations
