Position open until filled.Job SummaryPerforms law enforcement and police department duties involving the protection of life and property through the enforcement of state laws and university rules and regulations.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for performing law enforcement activities; to include but not limited to enforcing federal, state, and local laws and USM rules and regulations.Responds to all emergency calls involving crimes, disturbances, accidents, personal injuries, fires, and natural disasters.Responsible for investigating crimes and violations of USM rules and regulations, accidents, etc.Engages with the community in proactive police activities to prevent crimes, disorder, property loss, accidents, etc.Responsible for providing a wide range of community services involving traffic and crowd control, security at special events, crisis intervention, referrals, escorts, motorist assistance, public information, emergency notification, and medical assistance.Performs other duties as assigned.Special Instructions to ApplicantsApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship.
