Come join the leader in advanced EV batteries! www.lgenergymi.comSummary:As a Fire Prevention Specialist within the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team, you will be assigned to ESMI oversee all fire protection and emergency response operations at the site, combining advanced fire operations expertise with strong project management skills to ensure readiness, regulatory compliance, and effective execution of safety initiatives. This role includes leading a specialized industrial fire brigade in a high-risk lithium-ion battery environment, serving as the fire protection subject matter expert for ESMI 2, coordinating critical suppression projects, and acting as the Incident Commander during all fire-related emergencies at the facility.Responsibilities:Lead daily fire protection operations, brigade readiness, and emergency planning at ESMI 2Provide on-site command and control during fire incidents, hazardous material releases, and evacuationsConduct routine facility fire inspections to ensure compliance with NFPA, MIOSHA, OSHA, IFC, and ISO standardsTrack and close fire code violations and safety gaps through project execution and cross-team coordinationMaintain accurate documentation of fire drills, inspections, brigade training, incident reports, and system testingManage brigade equipment inventory, schedule preventive maintenance, and ensure service readiness of SCBAs, extinguishers, nozzles, hoses, and turnout gearsCoordinate training programs for fire brigade personnel with a focus on lithium-ion battery hazards, live-fire scenarios, and NFPA-compliant topicsLead evacuation and emergency response drills across all shifts and coordinate After Action Reviews (AARs)Support budget planning, cost tracking, and purchasing processes related to fire operationsInterface with Fire Engineer, Safety Team, Facilities, Security, and vendors to implement fire safety improvementsPrepare site for corporate HQ audits, MIOSHA inspections, and insurance reviews by maintaining full regulatory documentationQualifications: Associate's degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, or Project Management preferredHigh School Diploma or GED required with relevant experienceKnowledge of NFPA, IFC, and other fire safety regulations is a plusEnglish/Korean bilingual preferredExperience working in an industrial or fire safety environment is beneficialExperience working with vendors and contractorsSkills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial softwareExcellent organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to analyze financial data and create budget reportsStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenSelf-motivated, professional, and able to work independentlyAbility to develop and conduct training sessions effectively
