Network Installation Technician - Traveling 80-90% of the time, remote when not traveling - $40/hr W2
Responsibilities · This technician will support a large federal agency's Network Infrastructure through survey, design, and deployment of structured networks and will be responsible for the upkeep of the security posture of the environment · This is accomplished through projects such as new installations, life cycle replacement projects, Cable Plant and wireless installations that are compliant with commercial, TEMPEST, and NIST standards · Lead network survey, design and installations under direction of the government · analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), cloud networks, servers, and other data communications networks. · Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption. · Knowledge of DISA network topologies and standards · Topology and rack elevations using Visio · Create detailed Site Survey reports detailing a site's current infrastructure, NIST and TEMPEST compliance, along with design recommendations · Configure, install, test, certify, and troubleshoot network infrastructure cabling · Ensure Network cabling infrastructure is compliant with current NIST and TEMPEST Standards · Build and install equipment racks · Install, dress, label, and terminate Cat6 and Fiber cable in telecommunications rooms · Test and troubleshoot network infrastructure issues on SIPR and NIPR networks · Create accurate reports and documentation to design/certify network infrastructure · Track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner · Develop Bills of Material (BOM) for network plant design requirements · Plan and perform preventive maintenance and scheduled upgrades (Life-cycle replacements) · Investigate physical faults in the network · Report network infrastructure deployment status to key stakeholders
Qualifications · Must hold an active Secret security clearance · (US Citizenship required) · Security + Certification
