Position SummaryThe Trial Court Accounting Division of the Anchorage Trial Court is accepting applications for Court Case Manager 1 (salary range 10).This position provides customer service by responding to inquiries from the public, in person and by phone, regarding Alaska Statutes and Rules of Court while ensuring no legal advice is given.Key duties include receiving and processing new civil, domestic, small claims, and appellate case filings; reviewing and entering documents into the CourtView case management system; prioritizing and routing case files; and closing cases when appropriate.Additional responsibilities include preparing judgments, issuing writs of execution and garnishment, receipting and disbursing funds in accordance with court and banking rules, processing cash bail and bonds, researching case records, preparing daily bank deposits when assigned, and maintaining accurate case documentation.The incumbent is cross‑trained to perform duties across multiple court divisions, assists with workload backlogs, and provides support to other departments as needed to ensure efficient court operations.ResponsibilitiesRespond to public inquiries about Alaska Statutes and Rules of Court without providing legal advice.Receive and process new civil, domestic, small claims, and appellate case filings.Review and enter documents into the CourtView case management system.Prioritize and route case files appropriately.Close cases when appropriate.Prepare judgments and issue writs of execution and garnishment.Receipting and disbursing funds following court and banking rules.Process cash bail and bonds.Research case records.Prepare daily bank deposits when assigned.Maintain accurate case documentation.Assist with workload backlogs and provide cross‑division support.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED certificate plus one year of office clerical experience.Ability to operate a 10‑key calculator by touch.Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, and formulas.Candidates invited to interview will be required to complete an Excel spreadsheet exercise.Substitution options: one year of office clerical experience can replace a high‑school diploma or GED on a month‑for‑month basis; 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of college coursework can replace the required office clerical experience; vocational training such as legal secretary, paralegal, or office skills can replace the required experience on a month‑for‑month basis.Benefits12 paid holidays.Medical, dental, and optional vision coverage.Employer‑paid life insurance.Enrollment in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and the Alaska Supplemental Annuity Plan (SBS).Access to the Alaska Deferred Compensation Plan.Personal leave accrued for vacation, illness, or personal needs.Work HoursFull‑time, 37.5 hours per week.
