Position Summary This part‑time position (up to 25 hours per week) is Monday through Friday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. The After School Leader assists the Site Coordinator in program development and implementation, supervises children, and works as part of a team to deliver high‑quality, academically aligned after‑school activities.Essential Functions / Responsibilities Collaborate with Site Coordinator to plan and lead a high‑quality, creative program that is age‑appropriate for school‑age children.Assist in planning daily and monthly activities that are academically aligned and support skill building and social‑emotional development.Supervise children assigned to your activity area and ensure their health and safety at all times.Provide leadership and facilitate both small and large group activities (e.g., sign‑in/out, circle time, community time, enrichment activities, asset development, games & crafts).Promote inclusion and equity among all participants.Assist Site Coordinator in creating and planning special events, including parent & family‑oriented programs, and attend related events.Participate fully in monthly staff meetings and recommended or mandatory training programs.Help maintain equipment and site appearance, including daily clean‑up and scheduled site maintenance.Provide daily snacks and/or meals in accordance with federally funded child nutrition program requirements, including serving meals, conducting point‑of‑service meal counts, and food‑service cleaning protocols.Treat all children with dignity and respect and follow the YMCA Code of Conduct and discipline procedures.Pursue professional development through reading and further education.Help supervise the program in the Site Coordinator's absence.Engage in team‑building behavior, open communication, encouragement, support, and tolerance.Participate and volunteer in the YMCA annual fund‑raising campaign (site events and Y fundraising events).Other duties as assigned.Act as a professional role model, maintain a positive disposition, demeanor, and attire, and keep good public relations with parents and school personnel.Qualifications Must be 18years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.Certifications required before working with children: Child Abuse Prevention Training, New Employee Orientation, all RI DHS and MA EEC requirements.Certifications required within the first 60days of hire: YMCA‑approved basic lifesaving skills such as CPR, First Aid, AED, and Emergency Oxygen; RI DHS Pre‑service Health & Safety Training.Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.#J-18808-Ljbffr
