SIT Lead, you will be on a dynamic team providing technical and programmatic support to the U.S. Navy's Next Generation Attack Submarine Program Office (PMS351) at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact on our military defense and safety of our sailors.Position Requirements: This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain an active U.S. Department of War (DoW) Secret security clearance.ResponsibilitiesProvides day-to-day on-site support for future attack submarine design, development, and R&D planning under the Technical Director (TD), Ship Design Manager (SDM), and Project Officer (PO) for future attack submarines in the SSN(X) program office (PMS 351).Provide strategic leadership (both technical and programmatic) to the hydrodynamics community and coordinates with NAVSEA stakeholders to accurately scope technical efforts, align technical tasking across performers and ensure that technical efforts support program goals.Manage the execution of design, development, and integration activities/tasking within the SSN(X) hydrodynamics portfolio.Generate detailed programmatic and technical documentation and plays a key role in coordinating actions between the Project Officer, financial staff, and the technical performers such as the Warfare Centers, University Affiliated Research Centers, Federally Funded Research and Development Corporations, Design Yards, and other key stakeholders.Generate strategies, plans, schedules, and briefing materials to support the SSN(X) technical and R&D teams' near- and long-term planning efforts.Generate detailed technical documentation to prioritize trade space candidate solutions for exploration and reduction and recommends funding levels for current and future fiscal year (FY) funding levels. Tracks execution of tasking throughout the fiscal year (FY) and documents receipt of deliverables and determine future deliverables by the performing entities.Assist with the planning and coordination of various stakeholders, meetings, and working groups held with subject matter experts in narrow areas of expertise with the goal of defining specific technical solutions.QualificationsAn Active DoD Secret Security ClearanceUS CitizenshipBroad bachelor's degree in an Engineering field related to Hydrodynamics and Naval Architecture, including but not limited to Aerospace Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical EngineeringMinimum of 10 years of combined experience in the following areas:Knowledge and experience in U.S. Submarine hydrodynamics, stability and control, submarine control systems, naval architecture principles, model scale testing and submarine maneuvering systemsProgrammatic experience managing complex Navy projects with a wide variety of stakeholdersProject/Program management experience (managing project/program cost, schedule, quality, deliverables, people management)Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Teams, and MS SharePointAbility to travel up to 10%Desired Experience and Skills5 or more years U.S. Submarine experience5 years of experience supporting technical and/or defense industryAny experience supporting Navy acquisition programsSerco is an equal opportunity employer.
