Founded in 2004, we have a strong history of providing recruitment strategies and utilizing effective project and quality management methodologies to ensure our clients' success.Position OverviewThe Mid-Level Fire Protection Engineer supports fire protection system design review, analysis, inspection, and life safety evaluation. This hybrid position is based primarily in Bethesda, MD.ResponsibilitiesReview drawings from architects, vendors, and other engineering teams; implement design modifications.Perform design calculations for fire alarm and suppression systems.Conduct code and risk analyses: height/area, occupancy/use classifications, life safety evaluation, water supply, smoke control, hazardous materials, etc.Perform computer-based fire modeling for fire growth, smoke spread, detector activation, egress, and airflow.Develop performance-based fire protection approaches based on varying data.Gather resources to solve engineering problems.Support senior engineering staff and help clients make informed decisions.Monitor and manage project budgets.Engage in creative thinking, innovation, and sound engineering judgment.Additional responsibilities from attachments: design review, shop drawing evaluation, construction inspections, NFPA-based guidance, hydrant flow testing, and outage coordination.Requirements & QualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience in fire protection engineering.Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.PE license preferred but not required.Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.CompensationCompensation: $63 - $70 hourly (Temporary to Permanent FT after 6 months)Compensation Range: The salary range provided is determined by market value, internal equity, and the candidate's experience and qualifications.
