    Job Title

    This position involves leading a team of diverse individuals comprised of engineers, and administrative/technical specialists as their first line supervisor, reporting directly to the Division Head Code 753, and reporting functionally to the AUTEC Technical Program Manager.

    Responsibilities

    The responsibilities include:

    • Effective utilization, direction, career development/supervision of all branch personnel involved in the planning, organization and conduct of AUTEC base operations in accordance with the detachment concept of operations.
    • Administrative and technical management of AUTEC's support capabilities.
    • All matters related to tasks, services, and assets needed to support AUTEC Enterprise Operations.
    • Overseeing Environmental, Safety, Fire, Security, Information Assurance, Information Technology, and other Base Services.
    • Managerial and decision authority for one or more programs which have broad impact within the Navy and the Department of Defense.
    • Planning, organizing, assigning, and directing new and on-going work; setting objectives for and evaluating subordinate work; resolving work problems; and establishing goals and priorities within established project goals and other parameters.
    • Determining methods to analyze and monitor costs; forecasting budgets to ensure sound fiscal management and planning for future requirements such as equipment, facilities, and manpower.
    • Responsible for budgetary submittals for all areas encompassed by base operations, monitoring progress of expenditures and validating/prioritizing requests for urgent unplanned expenditures.
    • Reviewing and resolving group grievances or serious employee complaints. Assigned authority to approve official time, travel authorizations, and travel vouchers.
    • Representing AUTEC leadership and coordinating with senior NUWCDIVNPT and NAVSEA leadership to ensure AUTEC requirements and opportunities are fulfilled to the maximum extent possible.
    • Leading the AUTEC Safety team ensuring implementation of a comprehensive safety and health program.
    • Ensuring AUTEC provides adequate support for NUWCDIVNPT Code 1024 Explosives Safety Officer during the conduct of site approvals, generation of operating procedures, certification/qualification procedures and maintaining updated instructions.
