    FIRE PREVENTION & SECURITY OFFICER I

    About the Position:

    The TCBH Security Department is hiring for Fire Prevention/Security Officers I. Duties would include inspection and patrolling of buildings and grounds for elimination of fire hazards; enforcement of rules and regulations; providing assistance to employees or visitors; and performing other duties related to the protection of state property, employees, visitors and others.

    Job Type/Salary:
    • Open/Close dates: 6/01/2026-Until filled
    • Full-time
    • Hourly rate: Level I-$15.18
    • $0.50/hr shift differentials when working evening or nights and $0.75/hr weekends
    • Primary Working Hours are 11:30pm-8:00am
    • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
    • Primary Work Location/Department: TCBH-Security Dept
    • Vacancies: 1
    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
    • Level I- No experience or education is required.
    Special Requirements:
    • Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
    • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver's license.
    • Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 60 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.

    About us: The Tulsa Center for Behavioral Health (TCBH) is a psychiatric hospital accredited by The Joint Commission, dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care. TCBH provides a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment that supports recovery and enhances quality of life for individuals and the community. The facility serves adults aged 18 and older who are experiencing a mental health crisis, with or without co-occurring substance use disorders, and who are medically stable.

    In response to the increasing need for mental health services in our community, TCBH is being replaced by a new facility, the Oklahoma Psychiatric Care Center (OPCC). Situated in the OSU Academic Medical District in downtown Tulsa, this modern psychiatric hospital will feature 106 inpatient beds, an expanded residency program, and an enhanced range of behavioral health services. Construction of the OPCC is currently in progress.

    Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Pre-placement Testing: Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.

    THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION MAY VARY DEPENDING ON BUSINESS NECESSITY. EMPLOYEES MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK WEEKENDS AND OVERTIME.
