    Dispatcher III is the senior-level subject matter expert and process owner for dispatching, routing, planning, and compliance in Thatcher's chemical trucking operations. This role leads complex scheduling, resolves high-impact operational issues, and ensures complete regulatory compliance across driver scheduling, HOS, load assignment, chemical compatibility, tank requirements, and customer fulfillment. Serves as a technical expert, mentor, and key contributor to continuous improvement and fleet reliability.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Plan, dispatch Thatcher Transportation loads shipping out of Sparks, NV and all other necessary dispatch support for the Sparks, NV plant.
    • Provide support/vacation and sick coverage to other dispatchers (especially Sacramento) to dispatch Thatcher trucks.
    • Direct end-to-end brokerage operations for LTL, pneumatic, and bulk liquid truckload shipments originating from all Thatcher locations except SLC, managing service levels, and carrier performance.
    • Support revenue growth and customer retention by partnering with Market Analysts to develop pricing strategies for new business opportunities and contract renewals.
    • Lead carrier onboarding for all Thatcher locations except SLC and compliance efforts by creating and approving carrier packets, ensuring adherence to safety, and insurance.
    • Oversee shipment execution and visibility by maintaining accurate booking, tracking, and documentation within Thatcher's Software environments (TMS, etc.)
    • Approve carrier invoices ensuring billing accuracy.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    • Expert-level knowledge of dispatch operations, load planning, route optimization, and chemical tanker requirements.
    • Deep understanding of DOT, FMCSA, HOS, HazMat, and chemical transportation regulations.
    • Ability to manage complex logistics and communicate effectively across multiple departments.
    • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including scenario planning and contingency management.
    • Strong training, mentoring, and process development skills.
    • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and make critical decisions.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficient at booking loads with carrier via TMS software and 3PL suppliers.
    • Basic understanding of Microsoft office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint)
    • Recommended 40+ words per minute typing speed
    • Excellent written communication skills (especially via email/software messaging)
    • Excellent leadership skills in resolving conflict and overseeing personnel (Truck Drivers)
    • The ability to follow up/follow through on booking orders
    • Proficient at obtaining quotes
    • Approving Freight bills as well as carrier invoice reconciliation
