Become part of an organization where your expertise matters and your contributions make a difference.Security ClearanceApplicant must hold or be able to obtain an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET personnel security clearance.ResponsibilitiesLead technical efforts including analyzing reliability, maintainability, and availability data for sustainment and modernization of ship systems.Lead development and performance of test and evaluation plans; develop and implement science and technology and SBIR efforts for HM&E and C5I systems.Provide senior‑level guidance and manage contractor support team.Conduct in‑service ship design reviews and engineering activities; and special studies related to ships/boats/craft, ship systems and/or shipboard equipment.Provide naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical engineering and in‑depth systems engineering support for the Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E); Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat & Intelligence (C5I); and mission equipment and systems installed aboard ships, boats, craft and targets.The employee shall work with key program personnel and other stakeholders.This position will be hybrid in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.Experience12+ years of professional experience supporting the US Navy or Shipyard.Demonstrated supervisory experience directly overseeing engineers or technical personnel.Experience in Navy Ship programs is required.Experience with engineering changes and modifications to Navy ships.Familiarization with ship lifecycle sustainment and modernization principles.DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process); DoD/DoN contracting; experience communicating with SES/Flag level personnel; supervisory; Navy procedures and processes is desired.Education RequirementsBachelor's degree in engineering.Master's degree in engineering.Professional Engineering Certification Preferred.Membership to Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) or American Society of Naval Engineer (ASNE) is preferred.Equal Opportunity EmployerEOE/M/F/ Disability/VetOther InformationVEVRAA Federal Contractor#J-18808-Ljbffr
