Mid-Senior Level Associate
Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a mid-senior level Associate within the National Security Group of our DC office. Expected Responsibilities
- Assist in representing corporate and individual clients in matters involving national security regulatory frameworks, including OFAC sanctions, ITAR, EAR, FCPA, CFIUS, and AML
- Support internal investigations and corporate risk assessments, including the development and implementation of compliance programs
- Assist in preparing clients for interactions with federal agencies including the Departments of Justice, State, Commerce, Treasury, Defense, and Homeland Security, as well as the intelligence community
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, and other work product related to national security, white collar defense, and international law matters
- Assist with crisis management and incident response engagements, including geopolitical risk analysis and remediation strategies
- Support litigation and appellate matters in federal court involving criminal and national security issues
Job Requirements
- 6 to 9 years of relevant legal experience, with a meaningful portion of that experience gained working within a national security division or agency of the federal government (e.g., DOJ National Security Division, DOD, OFAC, intelligence community, or military service as a Judge Advocate)
- Familiarity with the national security regulatory landscape, including one or more of the following: OFAC sanctions, FCPA, ITAR/EAR, CFIUS, or AML frameworks
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to work on complex, sensitive matters requiring sound judgment and discretion
- Active security clearance, particularly at the TS/SCI level, strongly preferred
- Foreign language proficiency is a plus
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, sophisticated legal environment

The expected pay range for this position is:
$390,000 to $400,000 per year
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. Commuter and Transit programs may also be available in certain markets.
