Responsibilities include administering Mass Wetlands Protection Act & Ipswich Wetland Protection Bylaw and supporting Conservation Commission by attending meetings, assisting public/others with wetland issues, supervising part-time Field Inspector and Conservation Assistant, and working with Open Space staff to ensure proper stewardship of Commission land holdings. Candidates should have bachelor's degree, at least three years of relevant experience, thorough knowledge of Wetlands Protection Act, and strong critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Reports to Director of Planning & Development.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Botany, Hydrology or related field and a minimum of three years' experience in Wetlands Protection Act administration required. Master's Degree and four or more years' experience is preferred. Bachelor's Degree in fields other than listed above may be acceptable, if candidate has five or more years of relevant experience. • Duties require thorough knowledge of the Mass Wetlands Protection Act, comprehensive knowledge of Mass environmental laws and regulations, some knowledge of planning, zoning and subdivision laws and regulations, and working knowledge of application software for presentations and records management of the Commission, including word processing, spreadsheet and database management systems.

• ICS 100, 200 certification within one year of appointment.
