Permit Technician.The Town of Prescott Valley is seeking the next Permit Technician to facilitate and process applications and plan reviews for general construction to verify compliance with the adopted codes and ordinances. This position is also responsible for administrative functions relative to the documentation and record keeping of applications and issue permits. - Collaborate with all team members in a way that builds upon ideas and takes personal accountability and ownership of projects, role, and assignments.
- Provide customer service to internal and external customers; greet, receive and screen visitors and customers, on phone and in person; address and resolve customer questions as able and refer complex inquiries, requests, or complaints to appropriate staff.
- Receive, examine, process, and issue permits within area of responsibility.
- Assist customers with submitting new plans, revised plans, payments, and schedule inspections.
- Draft related documents associated with the permit for staff review.
- Receive complaints and public concerns. Direct information for proper disposition.
- Compose correspondence; proofread and edit; enter, scan, update and maintain information in spreadsheets, databases, and reports.
- Update and maintain department electronic and paper databases, files, forms and records.
- Assist with research, analysis, and administrative support to special projects.
- Prepare and send out decision letters.
Typical QualificationREQUIREMENTS: - High School Diploma or equivalent required with a minimum of two (2) years' work experience in building construction, plan review or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would prove the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment background screening.
COMPENSATION: The Town's complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture. The Town package includes a health, dental, and vision insurance plan, participation in the state retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation with a town match up to 6%, vacation, holidays, and additional comprehensive benefits.
