Position Description The
Marine Instructor (MI) serves as a critical member of the Marine Corps JROTC (MCJROTC) program, supporting the Senior Marine Instructor (SMI) in the management, instruction, and administration of the unit. As a faculty member, the MI fulfills teaching responsibilities while providing oversight and support for the unit's day-to-day operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: - Assist the SMI in planning, organizing, and executing MCJROTC curriculum and training activities.
- Manage administrative functions, including cadet records, attendance, grading, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain and oversee unit supplies, uniforms, equipment, and inventory to ensure readiness for training and events.
- Supervise cadets during classroom instruction, physical training, drill practice, and extracurricular activities.
- Provide instruction in leadership, citizenship, physical fitness, drill, and Marine Corps values.
- Work with the SMI to plan and execute unit events, competitions, community service projects, and other program activities.
- Collaborate with school administrators, faculty, parents, and community stakeholders to promote and strengthen the MCJROTC program.
- Serve as a role model for cadets, fostering discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and character development.
- Participate in professional development and training as required by MCJROTC and the school district.
- Ensure safety, compliance, and accountability in all cadet activities, including field trips, competitions, and special events.
- Assist in recruiting and retention efforts for cadets and support program visibility within the school and local community.
- Due to the physically active nature of the role, MIs are required to maintain good physical condition, demonstrate physical training techniques, and actively supervise cadet activities to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the program.
Hours: 7:20am - 2:50pm
