The position focuses on non-linear structural analysis for reentry vehicles, development and maintenance of high-fidelity structural and multi-physics models, and the planning, execution, and correlation of structural dynamics tests to validate performance in hostile and extreme environments. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Perform non-linear structural analyses (stress and dynamics) for reentry vehicles, including evaluation of structural response under extreme and hostile environments.
Produce and maintain structural and dynamics models using in-house and commercial software tools to simulate hostile encounter events, penetration mechanics, impact physics, and related phenomena.

    Basic Qualifications
Experience with structural finite element modeling and analysis (FEM/FEA).
Experience with implicit/explicit finite element tools such as Abaqus, LS?DYNA, NASTRAN 601/701, or equivalent.
Experience performing analysis in support of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design activities.
Solid understanding of structural analysis principles through education or equivalent experience.
Ability to apply advanced analytical techniques and adopt new analysis methods as needed to address challenging structural problems.
Active Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship required per client program requirements. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
A related Master's degree (e.g., Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering) is strongly preferred.
Experience with multi-physics or shock dynamics modeling using tools such as Abaqus Explicit, LS-DYNA, CTH, or similar.
Experience designing verification and validation tests and correlating analytical models to test results.
Experience with x-ray deposition, material vulnerability, and other hostile encounter environments.
Experience working to formal requirements, interfacing with customers, and presenting complex technical analysis to diverse audiences.
Experience performing structural analysis for reentry vehicles or similar high-speed flight systems.
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, highly integrated team environment, assume ownership of tasks, and drive them to closure quickly and efficiently.
Active Top Secret clearance is highly desirable. The Global Edge Consultants, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
