What you'll do

• Assist in the planning and conducting of office audits of tax returns, reports, and business records to support accurate tax compliance and identify discrepancies.
• Support the examination of accounting documents to verify the accuracy of computations and ensure transactions are properly supported and aligned with policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
• Work with audit leads on IRS data matches, applying guidance from senior staff to ensure proper analysis and follow-through of findings.
• Help prepare working papers, schedules, exhibits, and summaries that document the extent of examinations and clearly support audit findings and recommendations.
• Respond to routine inquiries regarding accounting and auditing laws, rules, policies, and procedures while advising business organizations on audit results and compliance recommendations.
• Perform related duties as needed to support ongoing audit activities and departmental priorities.
