    Pepperdine University's Caruso School of Law invites applications for the Vivian G. Prins Endowed Visiting Professorship in Jewish & Israeli Law for the 2026-2027 academic year only. The Professorship brings leading and emerging scholars of Jewish and Israeli law to Pepperdine to teach, write, and engage with our vibrant academic and professional community in Los Angeles.

    Appointment Tracks

    • Distinguished Visiting Professor (one semester): Ideal for established scholars. Teaching load typically two courses, plus public programming.

      Salary range: $90,000-$100,000 for the semester, plus a modest housing stipend and full benefits.
    • Visiting Assistant Professor (full academic year; renewable once, max two years): Designed for rising scholars preparing for the tenure-track market. Teaching load typically 2-3 courses over the year; robust mentorship and support for research and publication.

      Salary range: $90,000-$100,000 for the semester, plus a modest housing stipend and full benefits.
    Qualifications
    • J.D., Ph.D., or equivalent terminal degree in law or a related discipline.
    • Demonstrated scholarly engagement in Jewish law, Israeli law, or closely related subjects.
    • Commitment to teaching excellence, scholarship, and service in alignment with Pepperdine's mission.
