    Fingerprinting & Criminal Background Checks

    Employees of the Clerk's Office are required to undergo fingerprinting as part of the hiring process to facilitate a criminal background check. All employment is considered probationary until the background check has been completed, reviewed, and approved. Because all Clerk's Office employees must be eligible for bonding, any findings of guilt by court or jury verdict, plea of guilty, or plea of no contest (nolo contendere) in any criminal matter, regardless of adjudication, may result in disqualification from employment or termination. This policy applies both during and after the probationary period. Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining eligibility for bonding and meeting all background screening requirements.

    Employment with the Clerk's office is a statutorily appointed position. Employees of the Clerk's Office serve at the will and pleasure of the elected Clerk of Court.
