    Job Summary:

    Under general direction monitors the conditions on campus and takes action to handle inappropriate or endangering situations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Reports vandalism and other improper or illegal acts.
    • Monitors and observes actions around school buildings.
    • Checks and warns unauthorized individuals on school grounds of inappropriate behaviors.
    • Provides information and assistance to law enforcement officers and district superintendent.
    • May use a video camera and tape various activities.
    • Adhere to district dress requirment.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    KNOWLEDGE OF:
    • District policies and procedures.

    ABILITY TO:
    • Maintain orderly conditions on school grounds.
    • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
    • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with school district and law enforcement.
    • Read, interpret, and follow rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
    • Read and write at a level for successful job performance.
    • Maintain files and records and retrieve information.
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Individuals possessing the knowledge and ability listed above are considered to possess the required education.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:
    • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
    • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
    • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
    • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
    REASONING ABILITY:
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
    • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.


    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    Valid driver's license and any certifications required for school security personnel.

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
