Consideration for directly related experience supported by an official service record or experience affidavit. Annualized pay may be pro-rated based on actual start date.Position Summary Under general supervision, provides security and protective services to maintain a safe campus environment for students, staff, and visitors. Patrols campus grounds and facilities to deter and detect theft, vandalism, and other safety concerns. Assists with enforcing campus policies and procedures, responds to incidents and emergencies, and reports suspicious activity or unsafe conditions. Supports the protection of campus property and promotes a secure and welcoming environment for the campus community.
Minimum Requirements - High school diploma or GED equivalent recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency.
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check.
Preferred Qualifications - Three (3) years related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities - Patrol assigned campus. Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules for student conduct, vehicle operation, and parking.
- Resolve student conflict or confrontation and report disturbances to the principal or assistant principal.
- Control traffic and parking on campus grounds during school and after-hours events.
- Register student vehicles and maintain accurate records of registration.
- Work cooperatively with office personnel to inform students of vehicle problems (i.e., improperly parked, lights on, etc.)
- Assist law enforcement personnel as needed.
- Notify the police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention.
- Give directions or act as a guide to authorized visitors.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and seminars as scheduled.
- Daily attendance at work and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
- Keep informed of and comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy.
- Comply with all district routines and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working ConditionsTools/Equipment Used: District golf cart, two-way radio, alarm system and other security equipment, fire extinguisher, and standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals.
Physical/Motion/Posture: Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist, and squat on a constant basis. Prolonged sitting and standingStrenuous walking and climbing stairs; occasional keyboarding and use of a mouse, moderate driving.
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (15-44 pounds).
Environment: Work inside and outside (moderate to extreme exposure to the sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); moderate exposure to noise and vehicle exhaust; May work prolonged or irregular hours, occasional districtwide travel, position may require the need to be on call.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; work with frequent deadlines; maintain emotional control under stress.
Other: Specific hearing and visual requirements; may be subject to adverse and hazardous working conditions, including violent and armed confrontations; ability to control sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.
