ResponsibilitiesMakes routine and non-routine security checks of work areas and living area units.Conducts formal and non-formal counts.Investigates inmate complaints and takes appropriate action; instructs and counsels inmates as required.Monitors inmate movement within the institution.Performs essential and marginal duties of subordinates; performs all other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.Supervise inmate work detail.Perform basic grounds maintenance.Position will be posted in grounds maintenance.Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.Minimum and Additional RequirementsState of South Carolina Minimum RequirementsA high school diploma and relevant experience.
