Position OverviewCorrectional Case Management Supervisor – supervision level responsible for assessing and evaluating the personal and criminal history of adult inmates to recommend a security level, develop and monitor appropriate work and educational programs, and guide Reentry Specialists.LocationReisterstown Plaza Office Center, 6776 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21215GradeCORR 0008ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervise a group of Reentry Specialists to ensure work completion that is thorough, accurate, and timely.Provide daily oversight, coaching, and performance feedback to Reentry and Transitional Specialists.Conduct regular case reviews and site visits to ensure quality of Reentry Services.Offer guidance for complex cases and crisis intervention.Ensure program activities align with agency mission, state/federal requirements, and evidence‑based practices.Monitor data entry, documentation, and outcome reporting of Reentry and Transitional Specialists.Oversee compliance with confidentiality, ethical standards, and operational procedures.Develop and facilitate onboarding and training for new staff.Identify staff training needs and coordinate external learning opportunities.Act as a liaison between correctional facilities, parole and probation service providers, and partner organizations.Represent the Reentry Program at meetings, coalitions, and public forums.Foster partnerships that expand service access for returning citizens.Support implementation of innovative reentry practice tools.Prepare reports and other requested documents.Perform all other related duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (or appropriate substitute experience).Four years of experience assessing inmates' security risk and program needs for security classification and program planning.One year of correctional officer experience may substitute one year of required experience.One year of experience as a correctional dietary officer, maintenance officer, or supply officer may substitute one year of required experience.Military service experience as a commissioned officer in correctional classifications may substitute two years of required experience for one year of required experience.Selective QualificationsExperience recommending changes to institutional policies and procedures related to reentry issues.Experience developing comprehensive home‑return plans for individuals.Desired or Preferred QualificationsExperience conducting case reviews and site visits to ensure quality of Reentry Services.Experience ensuring program activities align with agency mission, state/federal requirements, and evidence‑based practices.Licenses, Registrations and CertificationsEmployees may be required to operate a motor vehicle and must possess a valid Maryland motor vehicle operator's license if such duties are assigned.Special RequirementsMust meet selection standards and complete training for a Correctional Classification Counselor, including U.S. citizenship or resident alien status, age 21 or older, completed background investigation, oral interview, and physical examination.Subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with state regulations.BenefitsMedical and dental coverage.Paid vacation, sick leave, and other leave benefits.State pension and supplemental retirement options.Access to the Maryland State Employees Credit Union.Competitive salary commensurate with experience.Equal Opportunity EmploymentAs an equal opportunity employer, Maryland is committed to recruiting, retaining, and promoting employees who are reflective of the State's diversity.
