Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.For The GS-09 LevelTo qualify for the GS-09 grade level you must have one full year of specialized experience. You must possess 52 weeks of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07. For this position, specialized experience is:Performing routine/recurring budget administration duties which facilitate more complex review and analysis functions.Comparing figures in funding estimate needs by line item or object class.OREDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if relatedORCOMBINATION: Equivalent combinations of education and experience.For The GS-11 LevelEXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-11 grade level you must have one full year of specialized experience. You must possess 52 weeks of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09.
