    Marine Technician Position

    Are you a motivated individual with a keen interest in marine propulsion systems and a strong commitment to continuous learning and development? We are looking for a dedicated Marine Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the maintenance, repair, and operation of marine equipment and systems. We offer the opportunity to grow and receive training in specialized equipment.

    Job Description:

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
    • Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods.
    • Self-motivation, organization, and a willingness to learn.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to adapt to varying working conditions, including sea trials and outdoor work in diverse weather.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform major and specialized mechanical overhauls and repairs on marine propulsion systems and related equipment using schematic charts and technical manuals.
    • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for marine engines and related equipment.
    • Supervise and assist in the training of student and temporary employees.
    • Contribute to equipment fabrication and parts/supplies procurement.
    • Write equipment specifications and recommend purchases.
    • Work on engine mounts and running gear.

    Requirements:

    • Drug-free and able to provide three non-family references.
    • Mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety.
    • Attention to detail and precision.
    • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, working both independently and as part of a team.
    • Marine industry experience, particularly in boat maintenance or boatyard repairs, is a plus but not a requirement.
    • Grinding and welding experience is also advantageous but not obligatory.
    • A strong work ethic, integrity, and loyalty.
    • Clean driving record, with no felonies.
    • Experience in marine shafting or vibration analysis is beneficial but not mandatory; we provide training.
    • Willingness to collaborate as part of a professional team.
