    The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for employees, tenants, patients, residents, and visitors. This role involves monitoring facilities and grounds, responding to security concerns, conducting patrols, and supporting emergency response efforts. Security Officers are expected to uphold company policies, maintain confidentiality, and serve as trusted representatives of the organization.

    • Conduct routine patrols of buildings, parking areas, and surrounding grounds to safeguard against theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, property damage, and safety hazards.
    • Monitor security systems, including CCTV, fire alarms, intrusion alarms, panic alarms, access control systems, and key management systems.
    • Report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or unusual conditions to management promptly.
    • Provide authorized access to restricted areas in accordance with established security procedures during off-hours.
    • Identify and report maintenance, housekeeping, or operational issues to the appropriate personnel.
    • Respond to and document incidents involving visitors, patients, tenants, employees, or property, ensuring timely communication with leadership.
    • Assist with traffic and parking enforcement, including directing traffic flow and addressing parking violations.
    • Provide safety escorts for tenants, patients, employees, and visitors when requested and operationally feasible.
    • Maintain accurate daily activity logs, documenting incidents, observations, property concerns, equipment malfunctions, and policy violations.
    • Address minor policy infractions professionally and escalate situations involving potential criminal activity, threats, or safety concerns to management and appropriate authorities.
    • Monitor facility exits and departures to help prevent unauthorized removal of property.
    • Respond to emergency situations and provide basic first aid, CPR, and AED assistance when appropriately trained and certified.

    Requirements

    • Ability to conduct regular patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and campus grounds, requiring extensive walking and mobility.
    • Proficiency with basic computer applications and word processing software.
    • Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to maintain professionalism and exercise sound judgment in a variety of situations.
    • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds as needed.
    • Ability to stand and remain alert for extended periods, including shifts of up to eight hours.
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Previous security officer experience, security training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
    • Experience working in customer service, healthcare, residential, or commercial environments is a plus.
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications are beneficial but not required.
    • Ability to successfully complete any required background checks, training, and onboarding requirements.
