    Confidential Special Assistant Instructional

    The Superintendent invites qualified and interested individuals to apply for the position of Confidential Special Assistant Instructional supporting the work of the School Leadership Team.

    The Confidential Special Assistant - Instructional will serve as a liaison, point of contact and primary support individual between the School Leadership Team ("SLT") and the designated schools served by the SLT to ensure that students receive outstanding instructional support and services.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Implementing strategic initiatives in alignment with the District's vision for instructional practices
    • Supporting, coaching and mentoring school administrators
    • Focusing school administrators on student outcomes and teacher quality
    • Assisting with management of school resources
    • Establishing specific and targeted student performance goals and metrics
    • Supporting school administrators with implication and management of required panels and committees
    • Designing and delivering professional development opportunities
    • Providing technical assistance to school administrators and teachers
    • Conducting regular formal and informal classroom walk-throughs
    • Evaluating teaching staff, as necessary
    • Assisting with daily school operations
    • Serving as liaison between school leaders and operational departments
    • Performing other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of the SLT

    Knowledge and abilities include:

    • Strong knowledge of instructional best practices
    • Considerable knowledge of teacher training practice and education program management
    • Deep understanding of pedagogy and experience in using data to drive results
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
    • Ability to prepare clear, concise correspondence and reports
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

    Qualifications and requirements include:

    • Master's degree from an accredited college or university
    • Five (5) years of teaching experience, plus three (3) years of administrative experience
    • Principal Standard Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility

    Salary: $125,000-$170,000 Employment Period: Twelve (12) Months Union Affiliation: Unaffiliated
