    Training Instructor FPS - Mississippi

    The Training Instructor is responsible for delivering curriculum-based instruction to contract security personnel assigned to Federal Protective Service (FPS) locations. This role includes conducting a wide range of security-related training and analyzing training data to support training needs assessments and recommendations.

    Training topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Basic and Refresher Core Officer Training
    • CPR/First Aid/AED
    • Defensive Tactics
    • Handcuffing
    • Expandable Baton
    • OC Spray
    • Firearms Instruction
    • National Weapons Detection Training Program (NWDT) modules

    Mandatory Certifications

    • Firearms Instructor Must have completed an accredited Firearms Instructor course (e.g., NRA, Police Academy, state POST Academy, FLETC, or military equivalent) resulting in instructor certification.

    Minimum Experience Requirements

    • At least two years of demonstrated experience in law enforcement or security methodologies.
    • At least two years of documented instructor experience.
    • Must meet Protective Security Officer qualification standards.
    • Proficiency in developing documents using Microsoft Office applications.

    Preferred Instructor Certifications

    • First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
    • Expandable Baton Instructor certification from an approved program (e.g., ASP, Monadnock, Police Academy, state POST Academy, FLETC, or military equivalent).
    • OC Spray Instructor certification from an approved program (same approved sources as above).
    • Defensive Tactics Instructor certification from an approved program (same approved sources as above).
    • NWDTP Instructor (National Weapons Detection Training Program) Must hold current NWDTP instructor credentials.

    Education

    • Required: High School Diploma or GED
    • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Homeland Security, Security Administration, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field

    Additional Requirements

    • Must pass a medical exam and drug screening
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly
    • Must be able to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends
