Overview The Traffic Officer is responsible for performing tasks related to ensuring the safety of staff, clients, and citizens. The Traffic Officer will work cohesively with other officers and certified flaggers to maintain safe traffic control.Responsibilities Monitors traffic at assigned intersection.Ensures safe passage of all pedestrians and traffic.Monitors flaggers and ensures safe positioning to properly flag traffic.Observe all non-motorists to ensure they safely cross roadways.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Traffic field operations knowledge is requiredAbility to work well with others in a team environmentProblem solvingOrganizational skills and strong multi-tasking abilityExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to learn new skills on the job quicklyMaintain a positive work environmentDriving Positions: must possess a valid Driver's License, with a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and effectively.Supervisory Responsibilities N/APhysical Demands and Work Environment Requires standing & walking for prolonged periods of timeRequires lifting up to 50 lbsRequires using hands to handle, control or lift objectsRequires being outside and exposed to environmental conditionsRequires being in traffic and construction environmentRequires repetitive movementExposure to work near moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment and moving vehicular trafficExposure to reasonable noise levelsClarity of vision at 20 inches or lessMust wear high visibility vests; carry a firearm; handcuffs.Environmental Health and Safety Employee will follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules that are set forth by the company.Education and/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent;Must have experience as a police officer, temporary police officer, reserve police officer, or auxiliary police officer (means any person employed by any municipality or any political subdivision of the state of Tennessee) or have a Retired Commission Card.Maintain a valid driver license.Obtain, hold, and maintain a valid guard card/license, as required in the state for which you are applying.#J-18808-Ljbffr
