    Job DescriptionUW Medical Center-Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Security Officer.WORK SCHEDULE* 100% FTE* Variable ShiftDEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONThe UW Medicine Department of Public Safety at UW Medical Center-Montlake is a team of certified security professionals dedicated to ensuring a safe environment.  Our services include security patrols, safety escorts, admits, and responding to calls for assistance.POSITION HIGHLIGHTS* Create safety and security for patients, visitors and staff at the No. 1 Hospital in Seattle and WA State* Exceptional benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, etc.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBLIITIES* The Security Officer works to maintain security and safety through inspection of buildings and grounds. The successful candidate will possess superior customer service skills, offering support and understanding in dealing with patients, staff, faculty and visitors to the medical center.* Tactfully confront individuals and gain their trust for authority, de-escalating anger to bring about satisfactory solutions* Investigate incidents and crimes with the aptitude to complete clear, concise and accurate incident reports and other documentation* Patrol and inspect interior and exterior of facility, on foot or in a vehicle.
