    Adult Probation Officer 1/2A

    The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for an Adult Probation Officer 1/2A for the Fairbanks Correctional Center (FCC) located in Fairbanks, Alaska.

    What You Will Be Doing:

    Institutional Adult Probation Officers are responsible for supervising a caseload of incarcerated offenders while supporting their rehabilitation through education, vocational programming, and structured case management. You will assess and identify prisoners' educational needs, assist with maintaining class schedules and program records, and make referrals to appropriate educational or rehabilitative services to promote successful reentry. In addition to these education-related duties, you will prepare reports, conduct classification reviews, coordinate release planning, and manage ongoing communication with offenders. The position requires you to prioritize work daily, adapt to a continually changing correctional environment, and consistently make sound decisions to ensure compliance with department policy, operational procedures, and state statutes.
