Job Summary
The Police Officer responds to and resolves calls for service, performs law enforcement duties and patrols the District to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum Years of Experience: None
• Substitutable Education & Experience: None
• Required Certifications/Licensure: Possess a South Carolina Class 1 Police Officer Certification or attain certification within the first 12 months of employment. successfully complete annual requirement to maintain South Carolina Class 1 Police Officer Certification, as well as the following: firearms qualification, defensive tactics (to include intermediate weapons), Criminal Justice Information Systems Security and Awareness, Restraint Application, Crisis Intervention and any and all required training through Lexington Medical Center; Possess International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security Basic Certification or attain certification within first 12 months of employment; certified in CPR or attain certification within the first 3 months of employment; Must have and maintain a valid South Carolina's driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle record and background screening as outlined in the Vehicle Safety policy (Subject to annual Motor Vehicle Record review and satisfactory results).
• Required Training: Successfully complete a psychological evaluation; Successfully complete initial and annual Department Physical Fitness Test; Successfully pass a comprehension exam as required by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy; Experience with Windows Operating System (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint); Ability to read and write English fluently and follow both written and oral directions.
