Description The primary responsibility of a security guard is to be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by managing access control, conducting routine patrols, and responding to security incidents. This role is crucial in protecting company assets, ensuring the safety of employees, and upholding a secure operating environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Monitor and manage the entry and exit of personnel, visitors, and vehicles into the facility.
2. Manage the entry and exit of employees using metal detectors, ensuring that all personnel pass-through security checks. Conduct searches of personnel items, such as bags, shoes, hats, to prevent unauthorized items from being brought into the facility.
3. Verify credentials and issue new employee badges, visitor badges, ensuring all individuals entering the facility are authorized.
4. Enforce company policies and procedures regarding access and report any suspicious activity immediately.
5. Control the entry of trucks entering the facility for drop off and pickups. Verify drivers' identification, check shipment documentation, seal verification, and ensure they are scheduled to be on the property.
6. Maintain a detailed log of all entries and exits, including times, vehicle information, and purpose of visit.
7. Perform regular routine patrols of the facility, including both interior and exterior areas, to deter and detect any unauthorized activities.
8. Inspect doors, windows, fences, and gates to ensure they are properly secure.
9. Verify that trucks entering the facility match the scheduled deliveries or pickups.
10. Ensure all trucks are directed to the correct loading and unloading docks or area.
11. Ensure seals on trailers match documentation when exiting the facility.
12. Document and report any discrepancies or issues encountered during the entry or exit process.
13. Respond promptly to alarms and investigate disturbances.
14. Assist in the investigations of security breaches, thefts, or other incidents per the Asset Protection Manager.
15. Prepare and submit detailed reports on any incidents, including observations and actions taken.
16. Aid employees and visitors in emergency situations, including evacuation procedures.
17. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
18. Maintain accurate records and logs related to risk management operations.
19. Report any security vulnerabilities or hazards to the Asset Protection Manager.
20. Participate in regular security drills and training sessions to stay updated on best practices.
RequirementsSkills and Qualifications: - High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
3. Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
4. Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Experience with metal detectors and conducting searches is a plus.
7. Ability to work independently and part of a team.
8. Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
