The duties and responsibilities include patrolling the streets, responding to a wide range of calls for police service, conducting investigations, protecting and documenting evidence, issuing citations, serving warrants, and testifying in court. The role also involves operating police equipment, maintaining vehicle weapons and equipment, using appropriate force to de-escalate situations, regulating traffic, and performing other duties as required.
Minimum Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of basic law enforcement training. Special Requirements include a valid North Carolina driver's license, U.S. citizenship, General Law Enforcement Certification, good moral character, passing a written test, oral interview, physical abilities test, psychological examination, medical evaluation, drug screening, and a Field Training Period.
