Quality Control Technician (NASA LTVS Award Contingent)

Employment in this role is contingent on Astrolab/Axiom being selected as a winner of NASA's LTVS contract.POSITION SUMMARY We are looking for a resilient, high-energy, experienced Quality Technician , with a good eye for detail. You will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our company products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. You may also be required to maintain tool control records, calibrated test & inspection equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement. Additional responsibilities may include operating company vehicles to store and transport materials and products. Lastly, you must be able to perform all tasks as directed by your supervisor.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Developing and maintaining company inspection reportsInspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards across all stages of productionEnsuring company tools and equipment are calibrated and working correctlyReporting quality anomalies to the supervisorCollating test data and drafting quality reportsIdentifying possible areas for improvement in quality control processes and implementing new methods accordinglyComplying with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areasUrgently communicating quality, safety, or compliance concernsCommunicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadershipImplementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecyclePerform additional job duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience High School diploma or GEDMinimum of 5+ years of inspection experience; preferred 7+ years' experienceUnderstanding of advanced mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportionsTrack record of delivering outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environmentsUses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challengesProven to deliver high quality results under tight deadlinesGrit Passion for space and the missionEntrepreneurial, growth mindsetPerseveranceResourceful, adaptableSkills GD&T experienceExperience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)Advanced experience with Quality Inspection ToolsExecutes priorities with precision and paceHigh EQ and ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionallyTech-savvy in using systems and tools to move faster and smarterExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCompetencies AccountabilitySense of UrgencyExtreme OwnershipExecution and DeliveryEfficiencyEffectivenessWORK ENVIRONMENT Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.Requirements Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.Proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
