Physical Fitness Incentive Pay
Employee shall be eligible to receive a Physical Fitness Incentive Pay equal to one percent (1%) of their monthly salary (after successful completion of a physical fitness test).

Specialty Incentive Pay
Detective: 4% of monthly rate of pay
Corporal Pay: 6.5% of monthly rate of pay

Crime Prevention Officer: 2% of monthly rate of pay
Traffic Officer: 3% of monthly rate of pay
Special Operations Team: 1% of monthly rate of pay
Field Training Officer: 4% of base hourly rate of pay for hours when training

Positions in this classification are responsible for general duty and investigatory police work. Incumbents respond to requests for assistance, investigate criminal activity, apprehend criminals and enforce laws and ordinances. Work is performed in accordance with departmental rules, regulations, and policies and normally consists of patrol, preliminary investigation and traffic enforcement duties. Tasks are performed from vehicles, or on foot. Work involves an element of danger and requires physical strength and agility at times to apprehend or subdue persons suspected of crimes. Incumbents function without direct supervision and exercise substantial discretion in determining appropriate response to emergency situations. Police Officers may also be called upon to assist in the operation of the Detention Center and entrusted with the health, safety, security and welfare of inmates.
