Security Guard

Grade Level: Hourly
Pay: $17/hour
Reports To: Supervisor
Schedule: Must be able to work weekends and holidays; weekday hours also available
Hours: 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., schedule subject to change through the spring and summer, due to needs of the Department. Must be able to perform overtime when needed.
Position Summary: Security Guards ensure that our staff, guests, and animal collection enjoy a safe experience at Wildlife Conservation Society parks.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Presenting professionalism in uniform while assisting guests that are seeking information, medical assistance or other aid and in a courteous manner.
- Communicating clearly using a portable radio.
- Following instructions and orders from Security Management and other competent authority.
- Completing the Security Officer's Daily Activity Report.
- Will be required to remain at fixed post, a roving post covering a designated area and entrance/exit gates, as needed.
- Monitoring building conditions for overcrowding, disorderly persons and prohibited items inside exhibits.
- Completing other assignments as required and helping others on the team
