    Dispatcher

    The City of Jersey Village is a vibrant community dedicated to the safety and well-being of its residents. We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as 911 Dispatchers to help ensure the efficient and effective dispatching of emergency services.

    As a 911 Dispatcher for the City of Jersey Village, you will be responsible for receiving emergency calls, assessing situations, and dispatching appropriate Police, Fire, and EMS personnel to the scene. This critical role requires quick thinking, effective communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Answer emergency calls promptly and gather essential information.
    • Assess the nature and severity of each call to determine appropriate response.
    • Dispatch Police, Fire, and EMS units to emergencies in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers when necessary, including CPR and first aid.
    • Maintain accurate records of all calls, dispatches, and related activities.
    • Coordinate communication between emergency responders and other agencies as needed.

    Requirements include:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous experience in emergency dispatching preferred but not required.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
    • Proficiency in operating computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
    • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
