Offering excellent benefits and lateral incentives $2,599.32 monthly benefit bank for health insurance 155 holiday hours per fiscal year (can be converted to pay) monthly city contributions to the 457 deferred compensation retirement plan and the retirement health savings plan. Police officer lateral new-hires now eligible for incentive pay! $5,000 paid upon hire and additional $5,000 upon successful completion of probation.
Qualified applicants will be invited individually to attend a physical agility test if needed. Passing candidates may be invited to an interview. Additional details to be provided prior to testing. Must be able to successfully pass a physical agility test, an interview, an extensive police background investigation, and an administrative review. Due to California state law regarding firearms, you must be 21 years of age at the time of hire for this position.
Police officers are assigned to any of a number of functional areas within the police department on a rotating basis.

Education: high school diploma or g.e.d. and successful completion of a post certified basic academy (required).
Knowledge of: modern practices and techniques of law enforcement, patrol, investigation, public relations, and report writing. vehicle and penal codes. laws of arrest. search and seizure. rules of evidence. legal rights of citizens. court procedures.
Ability to:Training/safety requirements: job specific training will be provided according to class specification during work hours.
