Position Description***PLEASE NOTE*** The salary range posted in this bulletin represents the salary range for a FULL-TIME position. Compensation will be pro-rated based on the number of hours worked.

FresnoHOP is seeking friendly, customer-focused temporary Trolley Operators to support our team and help deliver exceptional service across the City of Fresno. As a Temporary Trolley Operator, you will play an important role in ensuring each ride is safe, smooth, and enjoyable for our passengers. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering excellent customer service;
- Operating a transit trolley bus and ensuring the safe and timely transportation of passengers;
- Providing route, schedule and point of interest information;
- Performing pre- and post-trip inspections; and
- Fueling as needed.
FresnoHOP showcases some of Fresno's best destinations. Our trolleys connect Fresno State and Campus Pointe to key areas, including the Brewery District, Cultural Arts District, and Tower District. We also provide transportation for special events and charters, offering a fun and unique way for groups to experience Fresno.
We are looking for reliable individuals with strong communication skills, a commitment to customer service, and a focus on safety. If you are dependable, people-oriented, and interested in representing your community in a temporary capacity, we would be excited to have you join our team.
Incumbents may be assigned to work any shift as directed, including days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Temporary employees may be scheduled to work no more than 32 hours per week. The salary and benefits referenced apply to full-time positions; therefore, compensation will be prorated for temporary appointments. Temporary employees are not enrolled in the City’s pension system and are not eligible to receive City-sponsored benefits. Minimum QualificationsEducation: High School diploma, or GED equivalent.
Experience:
Three (3) years of licensed experience in the operation of motor vehicles and two (2) years of work experience involving direct public contact similar to that gained in retail sales, public service setting, or closely related field.
Special Requirement(s):
Possession and continued maintenance of a valid California Class B Driver’s License with passenger endorsement is required at the time of application.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS These positions have been designated as being 'safety sensitive' and require all eligibles offered employment to successfully pass a drug test before employment. Federal law requires that applicants for positions involving the operation of certain transit vehicles, revenue service vehicles, the transportation of hazardous materials, or heavy equipment over 26,001 pounds requiring a commercial driver's license must undergo pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment. This classification is subject to random drug and alcohol testing throughout the entire term of employment in this class.

HEALTH REIMBURSEMENT ARRANGEMENT (HRA) Eligible retirees can use the remaining Sick Leave balance, in excess of 240 hours, at 80% of hourly rate and other qualified leave balances, tax free, to reimburse health insurance premiums and other qualified medical expenses.
RETIREMENT - City of Fresno Retirement Systems, one of the best funded public systems in the state. Reciprocity with other public California systems. Vested in Retirement benefits after 5 years of service. City employees do not participate in Social Security.
DROP (Deferred Retirement Option Program): an optional, voluntary program that allows an employee to deposit retirement benefits in a special savings account within the Retirement System while continuing to work for the City of Fresno for up to 10 years. Participation minimum is age 50 and vested. Benefits include ownership of accumulated funds, compound interest earnings, and alternative distribution options.
*Part-time employees receive a rate propionate to a full-time employee.
