    We are seeking a dedicated Gastroenterologist for a 240-day assignment in Maine, commencing Jul 20, 2026. This full-time locum tenens opportunity involves 4-5 days per week, 8am to 5pm, with shared call responsibilities. The Physician will manage a volume of 14-18 scopes daily, focusing on both inpatient and outpatient cases including upper and lower GI endoscopy, biopsies, foreign body removal, and other specialized procedures. Responsibilities and Duties Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care. Perform 14-18 scopes daily, with procedures lasting approximately 30 minutes each. Conduct upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, injection of varices, and banding of varices. Execute esophageal dilation, lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy. ERCP/EUS preferred but not required. Participate in shared call rotation with other gastroenterologists. Work 4-5 days per week, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm.
