    CARE Counseling, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking Licensed Outpatient Therapists to join our teams throughout the Twin Cities, MN. As a member of the Optum Behavioral Care Team, you'll be an integral part of our vision to make healthcare better for everyone.


    As an Outpatient Therapist, you will treat a wide variety of mental health conditions that reflect the needs of our diverse patient population. We offer a variety of solutions that meet the unique needs of our workforce and the patients they serve. From clinical operations such as credentialing to business operations such as contracting, we provide organizational support that allows our providers to focus on what matters - providing care.


    You will have the flexibility to create your own schedule, choose to work onsite or hybrid at your preferred location, and see the amount of clients that works best for you! Evening and/or weekend availability is preferred.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Screen and assess patients for common mental health and substance abuse disorders
    • Provide treatment for mental health conditions using various approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based methods
    • Systematically track treatment response and monitor patients for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or complications
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements

    Required Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related Counseling field
    • Active, independent clinical license as a Mental Health Professional in the State of Minnesota: LPCC, LICSW, or LMFT
    • Basic understanding of Microsoft products, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
    • Ability to adhere to one of the following work models:
      • Onsite: complete all work at one consistent site
      • Hybrid: start onsite 4 days/week until caseload is established. Requires a distraction-free workspace / office and reliable, high-speed internet at home


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in outpatient mental health
    • Experience in clinical documentation
    • Diagnostic assessment experience
    • Experienced in treatment planning and maintaining a caseload
    • Experience with AthenaHealth / AthenaOne and/or Opus
    • Experience entering pertinent information in Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems
    • Experience reading and interpreting information, such as reports, general correspondence, professional publications, and government regulations, with the ability to share with others as needed
    • Experience reading, interpreting and applying/modeling general information from policy and procedure manuals and other compliance related information
    • Experience presenting information and responding to questions from internal and external stakeholders which can or may include community providers, medical professionals, management, peers, family members and clients
    • Knowledge of the effects of mental illness and seeks information from a wide variety of disciplines applicable to the treatment of persons with mental illness
    • Evening availability
    • Weekend availability

    Pay Range: $69,100 - $103,800 annual total cash target pay

    Annual total cash compensation for this role assumes full time employment and generally follows the range above, includes earnings from hourly pay (25/hr) and incentive pay and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
