Summary
- Position: Pulmonary Medicine
- Must have NC license and NC DEA
- Coverage for 73 beds (MSICU, CICU, NSICU, STICU, CVICU and Pulmonary Step Down unit)
- This would be hospital coverage of the general floor, ICU, Neuro ICU. Preferable boarded in Pulmonary and Critical Care.
- 12 hour day and night shifts
- Seeking board-certified (BC) Pulmonary/Critical Care physicians for locum tenens shift coverage at a tertiary care hospital. This position involves ICU rounding, pulmonary consultations, and bedside critical care procedures, supported by a dedicated advanced practitioner team.
- Shift Structure
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Swing/Short Call Shift: 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- Night Shift: 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM (weekdays); 6:00 PM - 7:00 AM (weekends)
- The practice operates 4 ICU shifts daily, 2 floor consult shifts daily, a swing shift, and a night shift.
- Clinical Responsibilities
- ICU rounding with a typical daytime census of 12-18 patients plus new consults
- Inpatient pulmonary and critical care consultations
- Swing and night shift cross-coverage and consult management with AP support
- Bedside procedures on an as-needed basis
- Advanced Practitioner Support
- Two dedicated critical care APs during daytime ICU hours
- One critical care AP overnight
- Required Procedural Skills
- Bronchoscopy
- Endotracheal intubation
- Central venous catheter placement
- Arterial line placement
- Chest tube insertion
- Qualifications
- MD or DO with board certification in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine
- Active and unrestricted state medical license (or ability to obtain)
