Firefighter
The City of New Orleans is seeking candidates for the role of Firefighter. This position involves skilled work in emergency response to protect life and property, including fire extinguishment, public safety, and emergency management. The role also includes semi-skilled workin maintaining equipment and quarters. The job requires considerable physical exertion and adherence to the rules and regulations of the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD).
Candidates will undergo a written multiple-choice test, a physical agility test, a criminal background investigation, and a medical test including a chest x-ray, lumbar spine x-ray, and psychological/psychiatric evaluation. A stress EKG may also be administered.
