Position: Dispatch Scheduler (Syracuse Market)
Reports to: Distribution Manager
Full Time - Exempt
Shifts:
12 - 9 P.M.
1 - 10 P.M. (Shifts include 1 hour Meal Period)
2 - 11 P.M.
Pay: $62,353.20 - $75,000.00 per year
Position Summary
The Scheduler is responsible for planning and optimizing future work, ensuring routes are efficient, balanced, and cost-effective. This role focuses on tomorrow and beyond, not same-day execution.
Key Responsibilities
Build and optimize delivery routes in advance (1–2 days out)
Balance workload across drivers and regions
Schedule customer deliveries based on priority, geography, and efficiency
Plan around capacity, equipment, and staffing levels
Prepare dispatch-ready routes for the next day
Adjust schedules based on weather, market conditions, and demand spikes
Work with management and dispacthers on strategic planning
Analyze routing efficiency and suggest improvements
Review prior-day performance and adjust future schedules accordingly
Key Skills
Strong analytical and planning ability
High attention to detail and accuracy
Experience with routing/logistics software (ADD's E3 preferred)
Ability to anticipate problems before they happen
Strong organizational and time management skills
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience in logistics planning, scheduling, dispatch support, or operations coordination preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail with strong organizational ability
Proficiency with routing, scheduling, or logistics software (Add Systems E3 preferred)
Ability to think ahead and plan multiple days in advance
Strong understanding of efficiency, workload balancing, and operational planning concepts
Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day direction
Strong communication skills for coordination with management and operations teams
